Head of Operational Risk recruitment
The position will play a key role in assisting in identifying operational risks, assessing adequacy of controls to manage such risks and contributing to the continual improvement of the risk management framework. The role entails presenting results and recommendations of reviews to various levels of management.
A high level of professional, technical (risk/auditing/technology) and fixed income expertise in an investment firm is required.
Key responsibilities, but not limited to:
Trading Related
• Monitor trading related risks, such as counterparty exposures, issue, issuer and industry concentrations, exposure relating to unsettled trades, non-standard trading, ISDA requirements, collateral postings, country/currency exposure
• Coordinate and maintain broker certification requests
• Monitor fixed income security master file
Business Related
• Private Fund Administration - Assist in review of private fund subscription agreements and supporting documents; conducting due diligence of service providers
• Monitor all outsourced arrangements with third parties
• Assist in identifying and analyzing risks of new products/markets/ business lines/pricing
• Assist in preparation of 13G, 13F, Form TIC SLT, Form SHC, 13H, Form PF and FATCA
• Maintain the firm’s Business Contingency Plan
• Serve as the firm’s Records coordinator
Education/Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, computer science, or related discipline. CPA, CIA, CISA, or similar designation preferred.
• Experience in fixed income asset management a must
• Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in operational risk management
• Candidate must possess strong oral/written communication skills, be able to interact with all levels of personnel, be self-motivated, have excellent organizational and time-management skills, and must be flexible and reliable.
• The candidate must have strong research, analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
