Head of Operations
Our client is a Physical Oil Trading business, based in Central London. Due to a change in direction, and under new plans we are actively recruiting a new Senior Management position, Head of Operations.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Operations will have direct control over the organisation’s operational activities. In this crucial role, the Head of Operations will be expected to work closely with the CEO, Traders, Risk department and Finance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage day to day responsibilities for operators including training, cover, recruitment, performance and review. Provides expert support and guidance to the team and company.
- Day to day responsibilities include: vessel, pipeline and trucking operations, storage management, contracts administration, inspection, Heath and Safety, supply scheduling and optimisation, insurance and claims, demurrage, compliance with UK legislations,...
- Consolidate processes to ensure the full legal, regulatory and best practice compliance of operational business activities.
- To troubleshoot, escalate, and manage operational issues outside those normally associated with day to day operations
- Contribute effectively to strategic decision making for the business as a whole
- Ensure that the internal information flows, policies, practices, procedures and plans align with and help drive overall business objectives
- Liaise with 3rdparty companies to negotiate service agreements
THE KEY EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES FOR THE HEAD OF OPERATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Demonstrable track record of commercial operational activities in physical oil including payment procedures and documentation - exposure to both trucking and shipping operations in the UK is an advantage, including knowledge of legislations.
- Prior success in the development and implementation of procedures and policies.
- Technical experience in storage tanks is an advantage.
