Head of Origination and Structuring (Alternative Investment Solutions), Americas recruitment
The Head of Origination and Structuring (Alternative Investment Solutions), Americas will report to the Global Head of Origination Structuring, manage and lead a team of sales professionals in order to drive, deliver, and support the Origination and Structuring efforts in the Americas with a mandate to broaden existing and build new client relationships to meet short, intermediate and long-term sales targets.
Day to Day Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee the Origination and Structuring efforts targeting hedge funds, CTAs and investors into alternative strategies via managed accounts, in the Americas, providing support and guidance to the team located in New York and Chicago
- Lead the team to develop prime brokerage and DMA execution mandates to the target client segment with the objective of delivering high quality mandates that achieve robust ROE and deliver growth targets
- Lead and support new-business pitches ensuring delivery with sound situations-based offerings that address client needs leveraging Newedge’s full capabilities
- Provide insight into market trends identifying opportunities for new products and opportunities that best meet the needs of existing and new clients while constantly evaluating the capabilities within PCS
- Maintain best-in-class service with smart, value-add PCS services to hedge funds, CTAs, family offices, and managed account platforms
- Analyze and assess relevant portfolio elements: execution and clearing solutions, settlement and custody, cross margining and financing, and risk management and reporting; provide structuring and pricing guidance both internally and externally
- Act as a champion for the team by developing relationships internally with key departmental leadership; identify cross-selling opportunities with other business lines
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and synergies; assess client appetite and assist in the development of new products and markets, and help integrate new instruments onto the PCS platform
- Manage and adhere to the department’s budget; provide regular status and flash reports that accurately address both macro and micro inquiries; track pipeline of new business activity and origination efforts
- Participate in industry events elevating the profile and brand of Newedge’s PCS offering and the Origination and Structuring team
- Ensure compliance with Newedge and PCS specific policies
Qualifications Include:
- 15+ years of Prime Brokerage or related experience with a demonstrated ability to successfully lead a sales and structuring team
- In depth knowledge of alternative investment structures, products, credit and risk, settlement and clearing, etc.
- Proven track record of successfully pitching and closing new business
- Understanding of managed account structures and platforms considered a plus
- Understanding of front to back processes and new product development
- Ability to develop and support a successful team of sales professionals
- BA/BS; MBA preferred
- Series 3, 7, 63, and 24
