Head of Origination, Specialised Lending
The Specialised Lending team provides funding to “active” high net worth individuals and their controlled entities to facilitate value creation opportunities. As head of this team your primary responsibility will be originating, structuring and executing transactions, and will include managing ongoing client relationships, growing income and identifying new opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring the portfolio risks are actively managed, managing the covenants of the deals and ensuring internal procedures are complied with.
- Drive a co-ordinated business development programme which positions the Group within the “active” high net worth market and drives new business growth.
- Originating and structuring transactions including:
- Managing the credit process including preparation of applications and other internal processes.
- Working with internal and external lawyers / advisors to diligence and document the transaction.
- Leading negotiations with clients to agree a facility which fits with the banks risk appetite.
- Putting in place robust monitoring and control procedures to ensure the risks are known and managed once drawn.
- Management of the portfolio including ongoing client service, covenant monitoring, identifying new opportunities, managing drawdown / redemptions and ensuring risks are known and managed.
- Responsible for ensuring that the portfolio is compliant with all other internal policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational, legal risk and Financial Crime.
To be successful in this role you must be an entrepreneurial banker with a strong network of ‘active’ high net worth individuals. You must understand this market and have exemplary relationship management skills; first class financial analysis and cash flow modelling skills, deal structuring skills and knowledge of the legal considerations relevant to lending. Previous experience of working with listed equities, hedge funds or private equity investments would be advantageous and those holding either the CFA or CA qualification will be favored.
