Head of Outsourcing Risk Control recruitment
Operational Risk Control has a team of Operational Risk Controllers for each Business Division covering front-to-back risks. To complement the Business Division aligned structure, the Function is establishing specialist teams, which will look at the significant risks facing the Bank on a cross-divisional basis.
The primary objective of the Head of Outsourcing Risk Control is to work with the established risk framework across the Group and ensure that identified risks are properly assessed and have adequate remediation plans to reduce risk to an acceptable level. Key responsibilities include:
- Framework, Strategy and Education
o Maintaining the Outsourcing Risk Control Framework including definition of roles and responsibilities across the Group including change approval process
o Providing expert guidance on implementation of the relevant policies and control documentation within the Business Divisions
o Indentifying the key risk scenarios across the business divisions and defining the critical controls required within the business
o Agreeing control monitoring requirements (positive affirmation of effective performance) and providing input to the definition of risk appetite (limits and constraints)
o Defining Outsourcing training requirements and mechanisms to promote and instil a culture of strong supplier management best practices across the Group
o Establishing and maintaining strong links within the industry to ensure that Outsourcing related industry news and regulatory developments are embedded within the Framework
- Development of central Outsourcing team and Business Division oversight
o Building a central team with complementing skills in order to support the process of embedding and operating the framework across the Group
o Building close links with, and on going support to, ORC BD teams in relation to Outsourcing risks and issues
o Providing oversight and coordination of Outsourcing related teams and activities across the Bank
- Risk Assessment Analysis
o Assisting in the development of centralised information and decentralised Outsourcing risk metrics across the critical functions and Business Divisions
o Analysis and follow up on controls assessments within the Business Divisions
o Assessment of known Outsourcing weaknesses and the adequacy of associated remediation activities
o In partnership with other key areas, coordinating root cause analysis on Outsourcing risk events and, where deemed relevant, benchmarking analyses on events that occurred in the industry
o Providing support and subject matter expertise to the business divisions to enable their understanding of the risks associated with outsourcing
- Remediation Reporting
o Leadership of cross divisional remediation programmes
o Conducting the Group Outsourcing risk assessment and provision of status information to relevant Business Divisions and Outsourcing oversight committees
Requirements
- This role requires specific technical knowledge and practical experience of outsourcing including transition, contract experience and supplier lifecycle management best practises
- Good working knowledge of outsourcing in either BPO or ITO
- Must have experience in process and organizational design; knowledge of regulatory challenges with respect to outsourcing
- Strong relationship building and communication skills that have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with and influence people across organizations
- A self-starter and entrepreneurial with relevant experience in a global organization and strong knowledge of banking, capital markets, trading activity and cross-product support functions
- Must be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of different outsourcing types, and best practises, including location and service provider trends with respect ot managed services, output based services, etc.
