Head of Penetration Testing
Essential Skills: proven technical background of working within IT security, covering penetration testing, ethical hacking and risk analysis; demonstrable leadership skills managing highly technical cyber security specialists; proven track record of managing very senior and difficult stakeholders; strong conflict resolution skills; excellent ability to build and execute a cyber security strategy across a global technology business; Security accreditation such as CISM, CISSP, M.Inst.ISP.
My client is in the market for a highly dynamic Director level security professional who can bring a strong technical and delivery background to the role but also has the ability to manage upwards and implement a global cyber security strategy within this area of the company. The role will report to a Global CISO and will also manage a range of very demanding and complex senior stakeholders who would have a vested interested in the performance of this function. The role will lead a team of between 6 and 14 (depending on contractor numbers) of cyber security professionals with specific expertise in penetration testing, ethical hacking and risk analysis.
The role will run a budget of around $2m and will take ownership of the program that provides ongoing cyber exercises to simulate attacks based on potential threats to my client's environment. The remit of the role is to provide assurance on the organisation's cyber detection and response capability, and to ensure that process and communication channels at various levels work effectively.
From a background perspective this role will suit candidates who have worked in large-scale blue-chip companies where Cyber security is a massive threat to the well-being of their business. I am not necessarily looking for someone from an energy company, also this is nice to have. You must have worked in a Senior security role with a demonstrable permanent career track record to be considered for this role.
This is an exciting role for someone who has a passion for the strategy around penetration testing and cyber security but is still an ethical hacker at heart.
