REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Head of Asset Management
JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be responsible to run the Public Equity local and international portfolio as well as choose and manage other income producing assets.
Play a key role in the design, development, recommendation, and implementation of investment strategy of Public Equity in accordance with the goals and guidelines provided by the Head of Asset Management.
- Select Public Equity Managers, making recommendations for allocation (regions and industry) and their rebalancing;
- Monitor the performance and risk of overall Public Equity program
- Be involved with the building of Sharia compliant products
- Monitor, on a quarterly basis, the review of each manager program according to the processes in place, to perform risk, performance and attribution analysis at the manager, and portfolio level for recommendation (add, hold, sell); in charge of providing the written report of this review in line with the deadlines
- Lead the manager/fund search selection process across its different phases and ensures compliance with respect to investment mandates; accountable for the production of the ad-hoc documents;
- Complete reporting requirements of the division for Boards;
- Supervises and coordinates the work of junior members in the area of responsibilities;
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
A MBA/ Master's in Finance from a reputable university. Or a relevant professional qualification (or progress towards one) such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- 7-14 years relevant working experience in investment management industry. Ideally you will be working in a Sovereign Wealth Fund, Pension Fund or Retirement fund or front office investment bank or family office.
- The candidate MUST have working knowledge of Public Equity in the local market, ideally some international markets equity portfolio strategies, portfolio construction and optimization theories, stock selection, performance measurement preferably as an equity Portfolio Manager or Senior Research Analyst. The position demands strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Fund Selection experience is an advantage
- Insight into practical issues of Asset Management organizations (investment process, organizational structure and people, marketing, business management and strategy).
Strong verbal and written communication (English) skills with the ability to effectively debate and subsequently influence internally externally.
Effective interpersonal skills that will help foster a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing. The candidate must be process driven and eager to deliver under time pressure.
Willing to travel internationally 3-4 times a year for business - Arabic a plus although not essential
- Track record of mentoring junior colleagues to deliver high quality work.
