Key Roles Responsibilities

Regulatory, Compliance and Reputational Risk Identification and Policy Setting
* Leads in the identification of regulatory, compliance and reputational risks in the Private Bank business ('Business') and development of appropriate Compliance Program, Policies and Procedures to address such risks.
* Anticipates and assesses regulatory, compliance and reputational risk trends and audit themes in the Private Bank business for Management attention and drives the development and implementation of appropriate Compliance programs, policies and procedures to address such trends and themes in a timely manner
* Regulatory Relationship Management
* Supports delivery of the Regulatory Relationship Plan.
* Leads and coordinates preparations for regulatory inspections and to serve as the regulatory central contact point during such inspections

Business Compliance Advisory
* Provides timely local regulatory advice and recommendations to the Business (including on Prudential Regulation) and proactively monitors business specific regulatory developments.
* Provides guidance on proper application and interpretation of laws, regulations and Compliance policies applicable to the Business.
* Develops and monitors compliance with Compliance policies and procedures.
* Approves Product Programmes and Addenda for local and cross-border regulatory risks.
* Works collaboratively with the Business to ensure that appropriate Compliance policies and procedures are developed and implemented

Training
* Delivers or procures delivery of a program of activities that educates and encourages business managers and staff to operate in compliance with relevant laws, regulations and policies. Such training would include key business specific compliance and regulatory matters.
* Assists in the development of an effective internal business compliance culture by promoting the benefits of ethical business conduct and the benefits of compliance.

Compliance Monitoring
* Leads the development and implementation of a Compliance Monitoring Program including compliance reviews, desk reviews and trade monitoring.
* Responsible for the completion of the Business Compliance Risk Review

Compliance Reporting
* Prepares regular, comprehensive and accurate Compliance reports and dashboards reflecting the compliance status of the Business and any material compliance, regulatory and/or reputational risks for Private Bank and Compliance Management.
* Responds to regulatory enquiries and surveys as requested by the regulators of Private Bank from time to time

Compliance Business Partnering
* Uses strong technical knowledge of private banking business and products in the jurisdiction to provide sound and timely regulatory compliance advice to the Business.
* Proactively drives the development and maintenance of good relationships with internal and external business stakeholders so as to foster an open and cooperative environment

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management
* Ensures appropriate compliance team resources and skills are identified and recruited to support business growth and address compliance risk issues.
* Sets and establishes Compliance team objectives and priorities through discussions with all relevant stakeholders. Undertakes regular performance and development reviews and discussions with Compliance team members.
* Ensures that Compliance team members work effectively and proactively with other Compliance and business teams to manage in-country and business-wide regulatory and product risks

Qualifications Skills

* Not less than 8 years in a Compliance or Compliance-related area in or covering a private bank with a special emphasis on product reviews and/or or compliance surveillance
* Good understanding of risks, good judegement, coupled with good interponal and communication skills.
