Job Title: Head of Project and Program Management, APAC
Department: Process and Project Management
Location: Hong Kong
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Regional senior executives on their medium and long term priorities and plans and translating those priorities and plans into discreet project efforts
- Work with Global Head of Project and Program Management to identify and define the projects that impact APAC and will be managed by APAC resources
- Lead, manage, and deliver large, complex, transversal projects for Newedge
- Monitor and manage the APAC portfolio of projects to include things such as alignment to strategy, stakeholder management, organizational development, training plan, resistance issues, cultural issues, workforce transition, and communication
- Coordinate the Program Office to follow and enforce the standard project governance processes and reporting processes
- Lead, direct, coach and develop the PPM resources in the APAC region
- Represent the PPM organization in the APAC region
- Ensure the timeliness and quality of project deliverables for projects being delivered by APAC resources.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with APAC executives and the Global Project Committee on the progress of the APAC project portfolio and the progress on Global projects that will impact the APAC region
- Identify issues, risk, and challenges in the implementation of programs and projects
- Ensure that appropriate portfolio, program and project governance models are successfully implemented and that these are supported and maintained by coordinated and balanced plans, activities and processes
- Ensure that coaching, mentoring and training of staff across the organization is provided for project, program portfolio management and governance, and ensure there are always sufficient competent resources (internally or externally) to satisfy the strategic needs of the business
Requirements:
- 12 – 15 years of professional experience
- 8+ years of Project Management experience
- 5 years of Program Management within IT (technical/systems knowledge with good insight into the development process) and the business units.
- 5+ years experience managing teams
- Experience in the Brokerage industry including Futures Options, back office, stock market functions, associated processes (i.e. the life of a trade, expiry and settlement processes, etc), various in-house trading, confirmations, clearing software and Broker reconciliation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e: MS Project, Visual basic programming in Excel, Access, etc).
- Experience working with executive leadership and ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
- Experience with internal consulting and demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
- Demonstrated track record for executing performance objectives and delivering results of highly complex global change management programs or projects
- Self-directed, process oriented, strong business acumen, attention to details, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, ability to coach.
- Strong oral/written communications skills.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Effective relationship-building skills at all levels of the organization.
- Proven project manager able to multi-task across many projects and facilitate
- Ability to promote and embed best practice Project Management in the organizational environment
- Solid experience of process re-engineering
- Good general management skills, including an understanding of planning, finance and accounting practices and good commercial acumen
- Flexible proactive attitude and open to change
