They are a well known trading and financial services group and part of a global financial services and banking group.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Head of Project Management heads up the Project Department. The department is the main change management function within the company and encompasses programme management, project management, business analysis and business architecture from a softweare to hardware perspective but in tune with the business and operations. The department delivers large and complex change programmes and projects by provision of project management services, managing stakeholders, commanding plans, budgets, leading and undertaking business analysis, and coordinating and negotiating with all stakeholder parties as well as external parties. You will have responsibility for managing the department which consists of experienced project managers / business analysts and other resources. You will be responsible for development of staff and allocation of resources as well as strategic input to major programmes and initiatives. You will be a member of the Project Management Committee. You will be accountable for the work on all projects including management of project managers, business analysts, business architectsYou will help develop and implement the business plan and be fully open on project reporting, budgets and staffing level needed to implement the project(s). You will work with all departments of the company as well as the parent banking group and external project management parties. Projects are wide ranging and include business and operational transformation and efficiency, regulatory and compliance change, product development and enhancement, technical projects and other business projects. Apart from using your organisational skills a major part of this role is management and communication.

You must ensure that the management of the firm is kept fully informed of the departmental strategy and other corporate issues. You must always ensure that firm meets with the corporate requirements of the group as well as the strategic requirements of the larger banking parent. You will provide input into business strategy and execute agreed business strategy including liaising with clients where necessary. Naturally as the ultimate leader of all project delivery you will prepare project plans for all projects enabling prioritisation decisions to be made and statuses to be tracked on an ongoing basis.

You will ensure that the areas of responsibility are managed efficiently and effectively, including appropriate apportionment of responsibilities, segregation of duties and controls to prevent conflicts. You will ensure that there is correct and proper management information to enable a review of the key performance and risks by senior management including providing relevant and accurate M.I. to assist in decision making. M.I. will include historic records, and pricing, costing and budgeting information. You must therefore be familiar with financial information in respect of areas of responsibility. You will promote and ensure that the different IT teams work as one to deliver effectively and foster project ownership in all team members instead of a silo based mentality.

Who they are looking for
In order to be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

* Have previous experience of oversight / running concurrently end to end multi project delivery
* Experience of being Head or Deputy Head of Project Management
* Have a technology background with a strong understanding of workflows and system and IT design
* Be able to see the big picture and have a can do attitude
* Have technical / functional knowledge as required for the role as well as the ability to go beyond expectations
* Have strong leadership and management skills as well as clear appreciation of effective customer service, internally and externally
* Able to operate at Board and Committee level using strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to understand long term strategy in order to achieve a long range goals as well as developing strategic relationships
* If possible have an up to date knowledge of the FSA and CBI rules and regulations, as well as up to date knowledge of market practices and Exchange rules
