Head of Regional MENA CDD Hub recruitment

Job Description

* Manage Customer Due Diligence (CDD) teams for multiple countries to ensure effective delivery on behalf of the MENA Regional GAMs/RMs for the entire Corporate segment of CDD initiation, renewal and rectification.
* Responsible for driving strategic initiatives within the Regional CDD Hub to ensure efficient work processes and implement best practices within the MENA Region
* To ensure quality of the Wholesale Bank (WB) CDD portfolio is maintained within acceptable parameters as defined by Group and WB CDD policies and guidelines, Local Country Standards and business strategy.
* Responsibilities will relate to the entire Corporate CDD portfolio for the MENA region under supervision

Key Roles Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives:
* Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve the way the Regional CDD Hub operates to improve ensure cost efficiency and productivity
* Develop strategic relationships with other CDD Hubs Financial Crime Risk (FCR) Centers of Excellence to mitigate and standardize the CDD process globally
* Work in partnership with other stakeholders to implement the improvement initiatives

Manage the Regional CDD Execution Team:
* Lead the Regional CDD Hub to ensure efficiency in CDD workflow and ensure that best practices are captured and shared across teams
* Work in partnership with Country OCC Heads to lead initiatives that enhance CDD productivity and quality
* Be a part of the OCC TT and engage effectively with Country segment heads for smooth workflow across the CDD process
* Work with country business units for regular CDD reviews and/or rectification requirements
* Ensure compliance with CDD quality and performance tracking metrics
* Ensure that the tracking/reporting of information relating to that portfolio is timely and accurate, including [INVALID-WORD]nt application of the overdue/rejection thresholds.
* Ensure a method of open communication is put into place between the CDD Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, Relationship Managers and members of the Operational Risk and Compliance functions.
* Ensure CDD is maintained at the highest level of quality to protect the Bank from regulatory risk which could result into financial and reputational damage.
* Ensure that relevant OCC staff know who to contact in the business for advice on the details of WB CDD requirements for account opening.
* Communicate all procedural and regulatory updates to the Regional CDD Hub in-country stakeholders.
* Constantly review the process, system and underlying policies to ensure that they are efficient, fit-for-purpose and provide feedback to appropriate authorities.
* Ensure that all relevant employees have sufficient knowledge of the WB CDD process to do their work.
* Assist in disseminating CDD-related training and communications to the OCC community and to implement new policies, processes or systems which relate to the CDD model
* Assist in FCR/AML tasks and ensure outcome meets the minimum deliverables required in each case assigned.
* Instill a strong analytical culture by setting the highest standards and demanding that these are maintained by others.

Change Management:
* Implement change management strategy to ensure that the reengineered CDD process is being embedded as BAU (i.e. via communications and trainings)
* Develop a people culture which encourages and champions change among employees in the daily workplace.

People Leadership:
* Provide dynamic leadership to ensure all members of the Regional CDD Hub are appropriately trained, engaged, and focused on delivering CDD excellence
* Create a working environment which promotes exemplar service levels and constantly strives to surpass CDD quality expectations

Qualifications Skills

ESSENTIAL:
* An energetic leader who can clearly see the strategic importance of building and running a Regional CDD Hub
* An individual who is passionate about being an instrumental part of the OCC Target Operating Model role-out
* An independent thinker and assured communicator who can rise to the challenge of successfully embedding the Group CDD Hubbing initiative

DESIRABLE:
* A focused individual who is an excellent communicator with good team skills, who has the ability to influence others by showing initiative and creativity.
* Understanding of the WB and Customer Relationships business generally and across OCC Customer base.
* Knowledge of Financial Crime Risk / Anti-Money Laundering and Credit-related Risk an advantage.
* Good background of CDD both policy and procedures.
* Working knowledge of CDD covering Corporate clients
* Problem Solving Skills - ability to think 'Out of the Box'
* Project Management capability particularly on Migration of Processes from other countries/regions.
