Head of Regulatory Services - Food Sector - Food Consultancy - Regulatory Affairs - Permanent - Surrey - c£50-70K Basic + Bonus + Car + Benefits

Our client is a trusted partner to the global food and drinks industry. They provide answers in an ever-evolving market, and offer the regulatory expertise, scientific consultancy and innovative research that their clients need to succeed.
The company's client list is a who's who of the food industry, including 9 of the top ten global food companies and 45 of the top 100.

Their renowned and highly-respected Regulatory Department provides unrivalled services covering markets around the world. Their multilingual team of advisors is unique and covers legislation in over 100 countries. The 23-strong team also delivers bespoke regulatory consultancy, a range of online food law products, training courses and conferences.

Currently they are looking for a new Head of Regulatory Services to lead this exciting service to the next level of excellence. You will sit on the company's management team, reporting directly to the CEO, so you must have the experience, knowledge and drive to make things happen. You will be the Regulatory ambassador at external meetings, conferences and events. If you have expertise in food legislation, first rate communication skills and involvement in national and global regulatory networks, this could be the opportunity you seek. The opportunity has three core areas of responsibility:

1) A senior corporate leadership role - You will be a member of the Executive Committee (Exco), contributing to the company's Strategic Plan and developing implementing the groups Regulatory Services Business Plan.
2) A departmental management role - You will be required to meet agreed budget targets and develop sales and marketing strategies for all regulatory services. To expand the existing portfolio and develop and secure new business for the department. To motivate a team of multilingual regulatory experts providing advice, food law publications, training and consultancy to clients.
3) A regulatory expert role - You will be the company's "Face of Regulatory Services" - writing articles and speaking at external events to raise the profile of the company's regulatory expertise in the UK, EU and the world.

The ideal candidate will be able to direct and motivate the Regulatory Team, manage a £2 million budget and develop strong relationships with clients. A good team player, you will work with internal company experts in nutrition, food safety and new product development to ensure that company services are underpinned with the correct food law knowledge.
Good commercial and business acumen and the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities are also desirable skills.

Salary £50-70k depending upon skills experience + Bonus + Car + Benefits
