Head of Risk and Control, Singapore recruitment

Playing a crucial role in the Bank's Risk efforts in WM Asia, this position is responsible for overall risk control environment of the Asia businesses and this includes an oversight responsibility over Operational Risk, Counter-Party Risk and Investment/Product Risk Management. Working with all the relevant stakeholders and process owners, to ensure that the Asia Business is operating under and growing within an acceptable Risk platform landscape such that all possible/potential risks are identified and addressed adequately. Where risks cannot be fully mitigated, these should still be highlighted for final management (business and risk) noting acceptance should the underlying business is still to be undertaken.

• In this capacity, to lead and provide guidance to the various risk disciplines across Operational Risk, CP Risk and Investment/Product Risk units so that they can effectively and efficiently execute and deliver their risk objectives responsibilities. As part of this oversight, to ensure the various risk functions are duly resourced with a working model/structure and people are adequately trained and guided in their jobs. To also be responsible for working with the team and supporting them in developing the needed capabilities including policies, systems, processes such that all risk priorities duties can be performed effectively.

To develop and manage the overall Asia Risk dashboard/KPI for review, analysis and reporting purposes. Such information will be critical for the Bank to have a good insight into the risks (actual potential) relevant to Asia's WM businesses. Note that in this scope of responsibility, Credit Risk exposure management will be included such that the final Asia risk dashboard will be complete and all-encompassing across risk types.

• Working with the Head of Risk for WM EM, this position will be required to pro-actively liaise with and work in close proximity with the EM Asia OC as the various Risk related issues/matters are addressed and managed accordingly.

• Spearhead as well as pro-actively participate in all relevant Business and Risk initiatives/projects from the perspective of Risk Control. Provide also active Risk advisory support to the business while upholding its 2nd LoD role when reviewing the various risk issues/concerns related to new initiatives/products.

Pre-requisites
• Tertiary education with at least 12 years of Banking Risk experience. Exposure to Asia Wealth Management business Risk Management would be necessary.
• Sound managerial experience in leading managing a team
• Independent thinker with strong understanding appreciation of the general risk environment dynamics in the global financial markets and how these impact the Bank’s risk exposures/position
• Ability to multi-task and is well-organised and meticulous.
• Good communication skills and strong presentation skills
