Head of Risk & Control recruitment
Working for one of Australia’s leading finance houses, this Head of Risk Control position sits within the Group wide Information Security Office and has accountability for the execution of policies, programs and processes to ensure the effective management of information security across the business, and technology controls within the technology teams across the globe.
Reporting to the Global Head of Information Security and sitting within the senior IS leadership team, this role drives end-to-end controls improvement across Technology to position group wide Technology controls capabilities at the forefront of its regional and local peers. This role will lead the centralised function that manages Group and Divisional IS and IT regulatory compliance requirements.
This role will see you working with internal business partners to establish an effective group wide Technology control and response capability that drives ongoing risk reduction and regulatory compliance. More specifically you will provide leadership for technology risk and controls, influencing Divisional business partners to:
- become advocates for ongoing investment in technology and control improvements
- ensure line management ownership of Technology risks and controls
- align technology decisions to Information Security strategy
- embed an effective ‘controls culture’ across the Information Security Division
- escalate control weaknesses and gaps impacting Divisions
You will also govern, provide support and reporting to the Management Committee of the Technology divisions Risk Management group and the Information Security Governance Committee.
Essentially this is a senior role responsible for Risk Control when it comes to group wide Information Security. To be a fit for this role, you must have proven ability:
- To work with a broad range of stakeholders to develop and embed key information security policies and controls, to ensure organisational adherence to regulatory requirements
- To create constructive relationships and communicate effectively, influencing and negotiating where necessary with internal and external stakeholders (this should include presenting to senior executives)
- To lead a team; this includes people development and building a high performing team
- To develop and implement solutions to ensure effective management of information security and technology controls
- To resolve large and complex problem to deliver business outcomes
