Head of Risk, Digital Banking recruitment
As a member of the Digital Banking management team the role holder will be responsible for driving effective and commercial controls within the Digital Services channel. The role is designed to provide direction and challenge and includes ensuring risk profiles are produced, appetite is defined, effective governance and control frameworks are maintained and that risks/issues are reported and escalated appropriately. The role holder must ensure control ownership is clearly assigned and that owners understand and execute their responsibilities effectively. In addition they are the conduit between Digital and the divisional risk teams and will call upon them for resource and support as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner the key business areas providing expert consultation on risk management and sourcing specialist risk management support from the central teams as appropriate.This will require the role holder to understand the regulatory regime, control frameworks and technical disciplines applicable to Digital and the business itself.
- Represent Digital on various steering groups and committee's as appropriate.
- Build and manage stakeholder relationships with a wide variety of key customers, suppliers and colleagues to obtain/ exchange information, identify best practices, ascertain customers future requirements and where appropriate respond to changes in the internal and external business environment.
- Ensure that the control management framework is robust.
- Ensure that risks and issues are identified, assessed and appropriately actioned and ownership of them is clearly assigned.
- Ensure that the appetite is clearly defined, effectively communicated and adhered, while striking an appropriate commercial balance.
- Provide constructive challenge and advice to senior leadership ensuring the business take informed decisions about risk to drive long term sustainable profitability.
- Review and analyse key external trends and influences to ensure that a wide range of information is used to support the development of local business area strategies, ensuring these are in line with the planned overall business direction, contributing where appropriate to the formulation of wider business unit/Group strategies.
- Lead, motivate develop and appraise the business and colleagues so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business.
Candidate Requirements:
- You will have a number of years experience operating at a Senior Manager/Director level within the Risk Management/Compliance space
- You will ideally come from a Financial Services background although candidates may be considered from sectors such as Telecommunications
- You will have experience of Digital Banking in one or more of the following areas: Mobile Banking Payments, Web Services, Digital Apps (I-Phone/Android), Ecommerce.
