Head of Risk Management recruitment

 Responsibilities

-          Work as a partner to the business, lead and direct the Risk Management function for the China bank branch.  Support growth aspirations whilst retaining the appropriate risk management discipline to achieve strategic goals

-          Direct and/or functional oversight of the entity's Risk Management operations; in particular, monitor progress of identified future actions; and approve and monitor key risk indicators where these have been established

-          Ensure that the firm’s activities adhere to the requirement of various legal and regulatory agencies, as well as the firm’s internal compliance standards.  Identify emerging risk issues and initiate mitigating strategies and solutions.

-          Maintain key relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including local regulators, senior management team, industry bodies and auditors

-          Provide relevant risk reporting to the Risk Committee, the Board and Regional Office as required ensure that the risk management program is effective and that it meets Group Standards and regulatory requirements;

Requirements

-          General Degree, preferably in Banking/Business/Finance

-          Excellent command of Mandarin and English

-          At least 8 years experience of risk management experience in China incorporated investment banks, with at least 5 years experience in market risk and/or credit risk in various business areas

-          Extensive product and business knowledge. 

-          Sound knowledge of local specific regulatory requirement.  A high level of professional competence which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management

-          Strong internal control instinct

-          Independent, proven track record in setting up risk management function in a China incorporated investment bank is highly preferable

-          Excellent communication people skills; proven ability to build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

-          Robust personality required due to coping with high volumes changing demands
