Head of Risk Quality Assurance recruitment
Our client is a leading international bank based in Abu Dhabi with a rich history of success both within the Middle East and global markets. With strong business lines in Personal, Investment, Corporate and International banking, they are in an excellent position to continue their development in both the short and long term.
They are currently looking to recruit their new Head of Risk Quality Assurance. Answering directly through to the Group Chief Risk Officer, the position will have overall responsibility to embed a post fact review / quality assurance within the various Risk Management functions. The role will require versatility, in being able to monitor key quality issues for all aspects of Risk.
Core responsibilities will include:
• Loan Review Mechanism – establish and maintain a process for end to end post act review process from application to documentation and commitment stage.
• Credit Risk Monitoring – assess periodically the quality and completeness of the annual, past due and rating review process.
• Data Quality Management – independent quality assessment on the creation and quality of credit risk data.
• Regulatory Compliance – independent quality assessment on timelines and content of all risk regulatory compliance. Assessment on internal preparedness on meeting emerging regulatory requirements – new Basel guidelines
• Systems– independent quality assurance on process, integrity and usage
• Market Risk Management – independent quality assurance on all aspects of market risk management including independent liquidity management.
• Proprietary Investments – just as in the case of Loan Review mechanism under Credit Risk, similar quality assurance to be conducted for the Groups proprietary investments portfolio.
• Risk Budgeting – ensure quality assurance of the Risk versus Business Strategy planning process.
• Operational Risk – ensure and facilitate quality review of the Operational Risk Management initiative.
Applicants will need to be seasoned professionals with a proven and broad Risk background. Depending on the size of the bank, it is highly likely that candidates will currently be operating at either a Senior Manager or CRO level. Although the position will encompass the full spectrum of Risk specialisms, a strength in Corporate Credit will be viewed favourably.
