Head of Strategic Financial Planning

This is a key role on the Internal Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) Working Group Committee and is the lead role for the financial planning, forecasting and analytics work stream of the ICAAP project. The Working Group reports to the ICAAP Steering Committee chaired by AMP's CFO. A copy of the structure of the ICAAP Working Group and the Steering Committee is provided in the Appendix.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to lead the financial planning, forecasting and analytics work stream of the ICAAP project. Responsibilities include coordinating the Group's five year plans across all divisions, strategic financial plan modelling and analysing the impact on capital and earnings associated with various capital strategies and opportunities within the various AMP businesses.

Main focus areas

You will be responsible for developing a framework and timetable for the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes across all divisions of AMP, ensuring a coordinated approach linking to the Strategic Planning and Capital Planning processes.

Leading the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes across all divisions across AMP, ensuring a top down and coordinated process across all AMP divisions, whilst coordinating the financial functions in the individual business divisions to ensure timely delivery of consolidated group financial plans and forecasts.

Providing analysis, insight and advice to make informed business decisions around key strategic initiatives, you will establish a top-down framework for scenario analysis and stress testing.

Skills, Behaviours Experience

Proven financial planning skills with experience in developing, implementing and coordinating a financial planning process across a complex organisation will have the ability to drive change and question the "status quo".

High level communication skills and relationship management skills, you will be comfortable in liaising with and influencing all levels of an organisation whilst using your highly developed negotiation skills.

Strong, proven analytical skills, you will have the ability to think laterally and strategically, with a highly developed results orientated mindset, you possess previous experience in developing trends and insights to drive strategic initiatives.

You will have proven experience in planning and forecasting at a Business Unit of Group level in a financial services organisation with demonstrated financial management, reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role coupled with CA/CPA qualification and proven experience in Financial Services modelling and capital management.
