Head of Treasury
The Role
Over recent years the bank has expanded and developed significantly. Due to growth as well as new regulatory requirements, a full restructure of the banks Treasury and ALM functions is to be implemented in 2013.
The bank is now seeking the services of a highly experienced all-rounder in bank treasury management to overhaul the current systems and processes used by the bank. A new position of Head of Treasury will report directly to the Managing Director and is a three year contract position.
Primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Design and implement a consolidated Treasury unit including key functions, roles, responsibilities, processes and reporting lines,
- Develop a functional operating model across Treasury front/middle/back office processes and product controls,
- Design and develop an appropriate structure for oversight measurement and control of market risk and ALM risks (i.e. liquidity, interest rate, FX risk),
- Redevelop and modernize the bank’s ALCO policy and limit framework,
- Develop an ALCO terms of reference and reporting pack,
- Design measurement method and models for interest rate liquidity, FX risk etc.,
- Develop and test techniques to measure customer behavior impact on product cash flows for liquidity analysis,
- Develop Funds Transfer Pricing model and processes to integrate into interest rate risk, margin measurement and product pricing,
- Review IT systems and data and recommend approach for further development including the implementation of new Treasury management software,
- Establish appropriate stress testing framework scenarios,
- Provide training to key stakeholders on ALCO framework and key RM concepts.
The Person
The individual must have a very strong working knowledge of bank treasury functions and risk management protocols including liquidity risk. He/she must have demonstrable experience in treasury management,and high competency levels in financial analysis, problem solving and decision making. Solid ICT skills, especially in the use of data analysis tools, are mandatory.Ademonstrable track record of past success in a commercial banking senior management role is essential as this is a key strategic position within the banks corporatestructure.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. The package will include salary, superannuation, and various allowances plus a fully maintained vehicle.
It is expected that the successful applicant will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Banking and Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field,
- At least 15years’ experience in the commercial banking field,
- 5 years’ experience in a senior treasury bank role,
- Demonstrated leadership qualities,
- Good communication and people management skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e.Excel, Word, Outlook etc) as well as considerable knowledge in Treasury management software products.
