Head of Valuations Control recruitment
Finance has ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of valuations feeding the ledger. The Valuations team within Finance aims to provide a global centre of excellence within Finance to work on qualitative valuation issues across the full range of products traded by the business. The team also provides governance over the independent pricing and reserving production work performed by Financial Control.
The team's responsibilities include:
- Governance of independent price testing
- Valuation and reserving policies methodologies
- Review of valuation models
- Ad hoc valuation related work
Specific Responsibilities would include:
- Direct management of a team of 3 individuals IPV controllers within Asia and reporting into Head of Valuations Asia.
- The role will also require frequent co-ordination and collaboration with the London counterpart.
- Supervise the IPV production process across all Asia flow products (Rates, FX and Credit)
- Develop and implement expanded analysis to provide increased challenge and assurance over the IPV process operated globally to include:
- Responsibility for delivery of the overall project to drive IPV improvements across asset classes globally.
Successful candidate will have:
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
- Strong technical knowledge with a detailed understanding of valuation, risk and pricing methodology and how these link into the BUC and risk functions.
- The ability to communicate with other parts of the bank, including BUC, structuring desks, risk and IT to ensure that complex products are correctly valued.
- Management of a significant and technical function with exposure to senior management on key and critical issues.
- Experience of developing managing pricing strategies and of setting standards and policy on independent price testing.
- A proven track record delivering new processes, systems and projects.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent academic record.
- Ambitious with a strong appetite to understand the products traded and provide insight and analysis rather than being purely production focused.
