Head of Wholesale Conduct Compliance

My client a leading global bank requires an experienced compliance professional to join their global compliance function to lead on the Conduct Risk Compliance programme for their wholesale banking businesses. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Conduct and is a key hire for the bank in implementing a robust strategy and framework for conduct risk.

This role requires the successful candidate to act as a thought leader and manager of programmes relating to conduct risk, because of this it will be expected that you will possess extensive experience in regulatory and conduct risk. This experience will ideally cover wholesale banking.

This role is key support to Global Head of Conduct Compliance and as part of the Conduct Leadership team you will be expected to lead the Wholesale Conduct team by;

Strategic leadership of the Wholesale Conduct Compliance agenda, which is a rapidly emerging regulatory theme for which there is currently little consistency amongst regulators globally. Key to this is the anticipation of future trends and issues, and using extensive industry expertise to deeply understand and respond to them at an early stage.
You are accountable for implementation of the Wholesale Conduct agenda across the Group, bringing excellence and consistency of policy and practice wherever possible, but reflecting nuances between different jurisdictions and businesses where appropriate.
Working with the Global Head of Conduct Risk and Head of Consumer Conduct as a key member of the Conduct leadership team to develop and drive a holistic view of Conduct Compliance.
Leadership and active participation in global governance and steering committees chaired by executive management including the Global Head of Compliance and the Chief Risk Officer.
Accountable for the global risk management framework to ensure it meets or exceeds legislative and regulatory requirements for wholesale business lines.
Key interface between the bank and external stakeholders (including regulators) in relation to Wholesale Conduct Compliance risk
Participate in and work with relevant industry bodies and groups in relation to Wholesale Conduct Compliance related initiatives, leading the development and delivery of peer group best practice.

This is a management role that will require the successful candidate to build out a team of conduct specialists. Previous management experience is a distinct advantage although not essential.
