Head of Wholesale Pricing / Commercial & Strategy / FTSE 250 / Telco / TMT

An exciting opportunity has arisen within this highly profitable Telecommunications FTSE 250 Commercial team, reporting to the Senior VP of Commercial. The title of this `key’ role is Head of Wholesale, which is responsible for realising business opportunities from existing and future business. This opportunity involves expanding its reach in terms of market segments, network capabilities and service delivery.

The purpose of this role is to provide overall leadership of the wholesale pricing function. The primary focus is on generating revenues, realising growth opportunities and achieving long-term business objectives.

The key deliverables of this role are:

• Maintain and develop the wholesale pricing strategy across the organisation;
• Provide coherent pricing recommendations and analysis across the group, ensuring that they are integrated with the overall business strategy;
• Manage the day to day pricing support functions;
• The role requires an understanding of the competitive landscape, market segments, and technology issues, as well as the interaction and integration of these elements with company propositions;
• The role is a player-manager role. The role holder will need to be able to think strategically and manage senior level relationships as well as conduct detailed data analysis;
• The role is varied and challenging, requiring cross-functional business leadership; management of a high-performing team and a collaborative working style.

Successful candidate will ideally be:
• Must have strong and wide-ranging strategic and commercial awareness and thinking;
• Financial and commercial acumen must be solid and well-developed, innovative thinker.
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationships inside and outside the company.
• Strong team-player.
• Makes well-reasoned decisions affecting the overall business.
• Anticipates market and channel requirement and develops appropriate solutions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Experience working with senior management, chairing meetings on possibly contentious topics and doing presentations.
• Capable of distilling complicated analytical data and conclusions into clear and relevant messages, focused on their commercial implication.

Two ideal backgrounds:
• Have a background from a leading consulting firm and have experience within `wholesale pricing within TMT;
• Currently be in a pricing managers’ role within a TMT organisation.
