Head – Operational Risk (Wealth Management / Private Banking) recruitment
Selected candidates will be responsible for controlling the level of operational risk exposure that results from business activities, thereby ensuring:
- Operational risk exposures risks are identified through an ongoing programme of analysis, and that they are understood and agreed upon
- Back testing of control effectiveness and risk identification through analysis of significant events
- Understanding the cause and reasons for failure to detect the control weakness
- Business level operational risk governance process, focusing on effective governance of the overall state of controls
- Business unit adoption of the use of risk appetite, and review changes to business activities to ensure risks remain within appetite
- Risk escalation and events where necessary to Business Operational Risk
- Accuracy, timeliness and appropriate escalation/sign off of operational risk management information and loss recording
- Adherence to the approach to the management of operational risks, providing training/leadership where necessary
To be shortlisted for the role, you would have:
- Atleast 10+ years of relevant experience in business operations, with specific reference to Wealth Management / Private Banking
- Understanding approach to the management of operational risk, or equivalent experience gained in other organisations
- Sound judgement and resilience necessary to perform a control role and maintain effective working relationships
- Experience challenging the comprehensiveness of risk identification and the effectiveness of the control environment
- Experience ensuring that the control environment is effective in reducing operational risk exposures to acceptable levels of residual risk
