Head Operational Risk
Our client a reputable Investment Bank, are seeking a Head Operational Risk at Director level. The successful individual will provide leadership, guidance, support and challenge the Group Operational Risk Management Framework across the business globally with responsibility for liasing with Corporate, Investment Banking and Wealth Management Divisions. The successful individual will embed the risk and control culture and this will involve;
Acting as a Risk Partner on behalf of Group Operational Risk to the business and to review issues as appropriate.
Provide business with thought leadership, advice, guidance, training and subject matter expertise on Operational Risk policies, methodologies and tools.
Provide expert technical knowledge on the development and implementation of the Operational Risk Framework and management of Operational Risk.
The individual will have exposure to the Bank's Executive and Senior Management including the CRO, Chief Internal Auditor and Executive Committee members. Furthermore the individual will have exposure to the Prudential Regulation Authority and external auditors and advisors.
The individual's main accountabilities will be to act as a lead partner to the Business Unit to assist in managing and reporting Operational Risk, provide advice and guidance on the Group Operational Risk framework, provide advice on Basel 2 Accord requirements, support the implementation of the operational risk system and develop tools, processes, and methodologies for risk profile and control assurance.
It is essential that the individual has knowledge of best practice operational risk and control techniques, knowledge of the regulatory environment and developments of Basel PRA and other regulatory bodies. Knowledge of operational risk quantitative techniques and an understanding of governance and control frameworks is key as is a comprehensive understanding and experience working within an Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Wealth Management area.
