Head Project Finance & Commercial Management – Energy/Utilities/Renewables recruitment
Job Purpose
Responsible for providing services on all commercial aspects during the life cycle of a project and achieving successful commercial outcomes aligned with Client Clean Energy’s strategy and business plan and will develop appropriate commercial frameworks, financial models and pricing structures that minimises risk and maximises the value of Client Clean Energy’s activities.
Financial Dimension
- Contracts to a value of $1billion CAPEX in the Development stage
Reports: 5 to 6 Direct Reports
Description
Support development of Client Clean Energy’s strategy and annual business plan, covering commercial aspects, including project origination, development, execution and operation phases and project buy-ins or sell downs.
- Active participation in strategic planning of RE projects and contributes to annual strategy and business plan
- Develop and execute commercial structures (including SPVs / JVs)to achieve business plan objectives
- Development of effective commercial structure and pricing models for Client Clean Energy
- Delivery of commercial and governance models
Lead or support commercial contract negotiations (e.g. shareholder agreements, project finance, EPC, OM, PPA, gas sales agreements, divestment arrangements)
- Successful commercial result for Client Clean Energy Business / Portfolio
- Provide commercial support for all projects and assets in operation
- Balance between in-house and external service providers, combining lowest cost with maximum knowledge build-up and flexibility
- Develop a database of commercial information relevant for Client Clean Energy’s business
- Accurate information and knowledge repository, with regular updates
Build a professional project team and develop(with the assistance of Human Resource Department)
- All team members to have an updated development plan and succession plan
- Plan in project development for UAE Nationals.
- Create a development plan for members within the Commercial Team
Stakeholder management with UAE partners, international organizations, and global partners
- Represent Client and their Power Energy business to senior business partners and government institutions (both within UAE and outside UAE).
- Establish strong ties with international organizations and receive recognition for Abu Dhabi's RE commercial structures as industry standard
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or Engineering with economics focusMBA or Masters is preferred
Preferred Experience:
- 12-15 years of financial and commercial experience
- 5 years commercial development experience with in the RE sector5 years experience in the oil and gas or conventional power sector.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of finance, economics and business
- Knowledge of RE, OG and conventional power sectors
- Exceptional communication skills and able to work in a strong contractual environment with negations background.
- Ability to prioritize actions and manage a diverse team
- Able to negotiate and influence
- With Project Finance experience background advantageous, especially debt equity placements
