Head Rating & LGD

UBS Corporate Center ensures that all UBS Business Divisions operate as a coherent
and effective whole by providing and managing support and control functions for the business divisions and the Group. This covers areas including risk management and control, finance, legal and compliance, marketing and communications, funding, capital and balance sheet management, management of foreign currency earnings, human resources, information technology infrastructure and service centers.

Within Group Risk Methodology, we are responsible for Credit Risk Methodologies.
The team mandate is the development and maintenance of the Bank's models for assessing default probabilities (PDs), loss given defaults (LGD), exposure at default (EAD for traded products and banking products) and associated credit portfolio models for both the IB and the WMRC portfolios. In addition, the team develops, confirms and implements calculation models for securities lending values and derivatives margins as well as methods for risk control and monitoring in Lombard lending on both portfolio and client level, such as stress testing, expected loss calculation, concentration and liquidity analyses. Finally the team develops and maintains the Real Estate valuation tools for both owner occupied and income producing real estates (IPREs).

As a Head of the Rating LGD team, you will primarily

• Contribute to the maintenance, constant refinement and improvement of our methods with innovative and solution-oriented ideas, in particular of our tools and models for Counterparty Credit Risk
• Lead a team of quantitative specialists

• Master's or PhD degree in Economics or an applied quantitative discipline (e.g. Econometrics, Statistics, Financial Engineering)
• Sound knowledge of statistical and econometric methods and their application to solve practical problems
• Proficiency in use of statistical software (e.g. SAS, Stata, Matlab...)
• 5 years working experience in a credit risk environment
• Sound practical understanding of financial markets and products
• Experience with large data sets and knowledge of regulatory practice would be desirable
• Co-operativeness and team-orientation, while able to complete tasks independently with a high quality standard
• Proactiveness in taking new initiatives and carrying them through completions
• Excellent communication skills (English and German) with colleagues at all levels in the organisation
• Ability to explain/present technical topics clearly and intuitively, both written and orally
• Ability and commitment to deliver high quality results to set deadlines
• Fluency in English, both in oral and written form; German would be desirable
