Head Workplace
Within the Collaboration and Workplace Solution unit, the IT Workplace (WP) team is responsible for the defining the architecture and roadmap of all workplace platforms and managing the associated
projects portfolio in the areas of:
- Base WP Services (OS, virtual desktop, remote access, SW provisioning, etc.)
- Communication Collaboration tools (messaging, unified communication, etc.)
- Mobile solutions (integration of mobile platforms, provisioning of core services, etc.)
It collaborates closely with functions in IT Service Delivery, including Workplace Provisioning, Customer Service, and IT Infrastructure.
In this challenging and interesting position as Head of IT Workplace, the successful candidate will work with the team to implement innovative solutions to increase productivity and end-users experience
in the workplace. Associated tasks and responsibilities include:
- Manage and deliver build projects (multimillion project portfolio, multiple year, global scope) while applying state-of-the-art project management methodology/discipline (planning, sourcing, cost
controlling, risk management, documentation, reporting) and superior leadership.
- Define the architecture and roadmap for the IT Workplace in line with business requirements and the IT strategy and involving all key stakeholders.
- Manage two Change Advisory Boards in the Groupware and Workplace areas.
- Assist the Head of Collaboration and Workplace Solution to scope, structure and execute the Workplace Program.
- Create an effective network across the company and become a trusted WP expert within the organization (Service Delivery, Information Security, IT Infrastructure, Enabling Programs, etc.)
- Manage a team of six expert technical architect and engineers.
The successful candidate will be an experienced manager with broad knowledge of workplace technologies and sound expertise in:
- Delivering global, complex programs/projects while working on multiple projects in parallel
- Researching, identifying and understanding technology and end-user market trends in the WP area to evaluate key potential new solutions. Ability to think innovatively and willingness to take risks.
- Defining directions and roadmaps for technical platforms. Experience with workplace technology, collaboration and communication tools, mobile platforms.
- Ensuring timely, appropriate, clear and targeted communication to end users, IT interfaces and executive stakeholders. Ability to integrate and reconcile conflicting needs of different stakeholders.
- Fostering team work and team spirit, motivating and encouraging staff; resolving conflict and creating a customer-focused environment.
Candidate background and professional experience to include the following:
- University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10 years+ of experience with solutions delivery with very good understanding of IT workplace technologies, components and dependencies.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, structured and self-dependent work approach, reliable and target-date oriented.
- Sound, strategic and consistent decision-making skills, even in situations of high complexity
- High level of social competency (communication, assertiveness, facilitation, negotiation).
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills in English.
