2 Heads of Business Roles (Credit and FX/Rates)

This Corporate Investment Banking Division serves as a talent pool for our client’s global platform, which contributes to a significant portion of the bank’s revenues and profits.
The divisionworks very closely with our client’s hubs to deliver cutting edge investment banking services for its Global Markets franchise. The teams in the divisionwill be front office teams acting as virtual extensions of the trading desks in hubs like London, New York, Singapore and other parts of the world

The division has more than 750 staff in all 3 locations, with about 600 staff in Mumbai. The division has teams supporting FX, Credit, Rates, Equity GPF, and other market product verticals, sales and origination and structuring.

The products and other teams are lead and managed locally by business heads. The key responsibilities of the business heads include

  1. Business Development, identifying opportunities in the global business where the division can add value though its desk extension model, migration of businesses (e.g. markets clearing, cash equities, including regulated activities etc) into Mumbai.
  2. Managing teams including all people processes for the division’s staff including the ability to advise and coach in technical areas
  3. Compliance and governance
  4. Cross product initiatives at the division

Skill sets required:

  1. Significant exposure for no less than 8 years to either asset class as a Senior or Head of Trading or Structuring.
  2. Should have worked on desk in an international location for a significant time period e.g.: UK, USA, Singapore, HK etc.

This role is a good development opportunity for expats who are looking to work in India for some time to gain experience in emerging markets. It also offers the opportunity to build people skills of managing a large team (60-100). The division is looking at opportunities where its staff can do client facing regulated activities. The business heads will lead the initiative of identifying such opportunities and working with international desks to achieve this objective.
