Health and Safety Compliance Manager
Job Description Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Specialist We are seeking an Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Specialist with 5 or more years of environmental experience, preferably in the packaging or consumer products industry. The position requires plant environmental permit support, assisting with and developing an evolving comprehensive audit program, environmental compliance auditing at plants, audit follow up, tracking corrective actions for deficiency findings at multiple US locations. The ideal candidate will be expected to liaise with corporate legal, operations, EHS departments and regulatory agencies as necessary. The candidate must be an enthusiastic self-starter and should have experience conducting compliance audits in multiple locations in the US; experience with international regulations is a plus. Regulatory elements include: RCRA Solid and Hazardous Waste, NPDES Storm Water, Municipal POTW Wastewater Pretreatment, Tier II Right to Know, and SPCCC. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and FDA GMPs is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required along with working experience with auditing/tracking software; familiarity with SAP is a plus. The position requires strong organizational skills, strong verbal and written communications skills, the ability to prioritize and drive corrective action, and work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safety-first environment at all times while being in compliance with safety standards. A Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, health and safety, chemistry, environmental engineering or commensurate experience in the regulatory field is preferred. Requirements include a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in a similar or related field (environmental permitting, regulatory affairs, compliance auditing, etc) a must. This position will likely require 50% or more travel and may include international travel. Commitment is for a full year as a full time consultant to a central Pennsylvania headquartered packaging company. Work location is York PA or in the Northeastern US (with significant time spent in York). After one year, the potential exists for the individual to be hired by AECOM's client.
