Health Care Assistant (HCA) Level 3
Hays is working with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to recruit experienced Locum Health Care Assistant at Level 3 level to work at their Larkhill Medical Centre, Wiltshire.
Dates Required: 07.10.13 - 29.11.13
37.5hrs per hour (Mon - Fri)
Your Duties will involve:
Provision of general basic nursing care under indirect supervision of the practice nurse team leader undertaking tasks and duties delegated by a suitably qualified regulated professional.
Provision of administrative support as required within competencies.
You will be expected to assist the MOs and practice nurse teams within Primary Health Care clinics, Occupational Health assessment clinics, chronic disease clinics, and health promotion.
You must have the following skills: Clinical measurements, visual acuity, ECG, glucose tolerance tests, peak flow readings, inhaler technique, spirometry, urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation, understanding of infection control.
Qualification minima and experience
Literacy and numeracy skills
Previous experience working in general practice or other healthcare environment
Experience working under indirect supervision
National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 in healthcare,
Medical Devices Competencies, Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training,
Basic Life Support and Manual Handling Training.
Desirable
Previous experience of working with MOD.
Additional skills such as; Audiometry, simple dressing procedures using aseptic technique, vaccination administration, health promotion
Chaperone training.
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent
First Aid Certification
