Health Safety and Environmental Manager at Equistar
Description This position is responsible for the direction of the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs and policies for the Jackson, Tennessee facility. The position is also responsible for compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations: local, state and federal. The position also serves as the Environmental Management System (ISO14001) representative. Responsibilities: · Leads the site HSE department to ensure continuous improvement of the site's HSE programs and performance. · Establishes and maintains Key Performance Indicators used to measure the site's HSE performance. · Ensures the site HSE programs and practices are consistent with LyondellBasell's Operational Excellence Standards and in compliance with local, state and federal requirements. · Proactively develops and deploys HSE programs to reduce work-related injuries and illnesses, lower workers compensation costs, and prevents harm to the environment. · Acts as the site champion to insure proper investigation and follow-up is taken on safety concerns, near misses and incidents. · Addresses all internal and external customer inquires and reporting requirements regarding health, safety, product stewardship, and environmental matters. · Facilitates employee involvement, awareness, and continuous improvement in all LyondellBasell safety programs. · Manages organizational aspects of the Health, Safety, and Environment Department to develop staff with expertise and knowledge.
