Health, Safety and Training Manager (2 Positions)
Newlands Coal, Glenden, QLD (Ref No. MW1965)
Xstrata Coal Queensland is currently looking for two Health, Safety and Training (HST) Managers to join the Newlands Coal surface and underground teams. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary objective will be to actively promote and demonstrate positive safety leadership to enhance workplace culture and safety performance. This will be supported by the implementation of health, safety and training initiatives.
Your key accountabilities will include assisting the Operations Manager in fulfilling SSE duties, developing and implementing the Safety Heath Management System, ensuring training is implemented in accordance with the Training Plan and ensuring compliance with the Safety Heath Management System, Xstrata Sustainable Development Policies, relevant legislative and stakeholder requirements.
To succeed in this role you will have exceptional interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills to work with various levels of management and external stakeholders. You will have a minimum of three years experience in a health and safety leadership role and will have a thorough understanding of Queensland Statutory OHS obligations and you will hold tertiary qualifications in a health related field. Whilst not essential, SSE and/or Mine Manager qualifications and previous experience within the mining industry will be highly regarded.
