HEALTH SAFETY COORDINATOR, SITE CONSTRUCTION

Job Description AECOM is looking to recruit multiple Health Safety Coordinator professionals for an anticipated transmission and distribution project in the Province of Alberta. These are regular full time opportunities and relocation assistance is available. Reporting to the Health Safety Coordinator (dotted line to Construction Manager), this position will interact with construction and contract personnel and be responsible for the supervision, coordination, and administration of safety on project construction sites. Responsibilities to include: ? Provide health and safety support to Owner's Health Safety Coordinators. ? Ensure that the health, safety and environment execution plan meets the requirements of all regulatory authorities. ? Facilitate site safety orientations (as required). ? Perform work observations. ? Perform site safety inspection and corrective coaching when required, included in this shall be a weekly formal inspection of sites responsible. ? Monitoring and implementation of the health, safety and environment execution plan. ? Attendance to crew daily tailboard safety meetings. ? Review daily tailboards and check for completion and coach where required. ? Assist in the development of job safety plans. ? Conduct stop work instruction for any imminent danger situations that may be encountered during the performance of work. ? Report immediately to Owner s EIC and Owner s Health Safety Coordinator any issues relating to imminent danger. ? Investigate any incidents that occur. ? Attend contractor weekly safety meetings. ? Provide the necessary administration reports required for daily and weekly HSE related activities and statistics. ? Verbal notification immediately of incidents, stop work, or serious (red) near misses with follow up that includes a written report within 24 hours of stated notification. ? Coaching and mentoring in regards to HSE issues and/or concerns. ? Utilize a behavior based safety approach when dealing with crew members. ? Work with Owner s health and safety site administration to ensure proper documentation, control, and filing of project information. ? Attend safety leader meetings. ? Attend construction progress meetings when applicable. ? Other health and safety related duties as may be required. Qualifications to include: ? CSO certification or higher (ie: OHSC, NCSO or CRSP) ? ATCO Electric Contractor HSE Orientation. ? 7 Steps to Electrical Safety ? CSTS ? WHMIS ? H2S Alive ? First Aid with CPR ? All applicable Authorizations including a Minimum valid Class 5 Operator s License issued by the Alberta Government, or equivalent license recognized in Alberta. ? The following courses will be provided by Owner and will require 3 days: ? ATCO Electric Job Safety Planning ? ATCO Electric Worksite Observation ? ATCO Electric Incident Investigation ?
