Altarum Institute is pleased to announce an opening for a Healthcare Analyst to work with our Program Analysis and Evaluation (PAE) Practice Area and in support of our Center for Survey Research. This position will be based in Alexandria, VA, and also involve working at client sites in the Washington, DC area. The team supports client work within DHCAPE in the TRICARE Management Activity, Department of Defense, and with a range of other government clients. Candidate will perform as a research associate and analyst to meet an array of client needs in survey research, including: development of literature reviews, white papers, reports, and manuscripts with associated analysis and presentation of results to clients, in published research, at conferences and briefings.

As Healthcare Analyst, you will be responsible for:
• Providing onsite research and presentation support to the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) office of Health Care Program Analysis Evaluation (HPAE).
• Assisting in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative survey data on health and social programs within the Military Health System; supporting health services research and program evaluation studies with a focus on utilizing survey and claims data.
• Supporting the development of articles, in collaboration with the client, for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Incorporating results of statistical and other analyses into written documentation and presentations utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Conducting library and internet research for literature reviews and white papers.

Qualifications include:
• Degree: Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience with SAS for analysis required, use of SAS with survey data is a plus; use of SAS solely for college studies is not sufficient. Experience with SUDAAN is a discriminating factor. Experience with other statistical packages like SPSS or Stata will be considered.
• Experience providing survey research support and analyzing survey results is preferred, especially experience with health care satisfaction surveys, experience with analysis of claims data will be considered.
• Military experience or familiarity with the Military Health System preferred.
• Candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to report progress to clients and senior management. Must be able to work well under pressure and self manage.
• MUST be eligible for a Security Clearance (sole U.S. Citizenship Required).
