HEDGE FUND DEVELOPER

ROLE

• Development, maintenance and production support of existing trading operational systems

• Ability to think strategically and work with internal clients on complex systems

• Ensure quality of work through development and implementation of QA procedures and standards

• Build custom front-end applications while integrating with existing back-end systems

• Participate in the analysis and recommendation of deploying third-party solutions (build vs. buy).

• Assist with and guide the development of junior staff

• Adhere to best practices in change control and documentation

• With frequency, select the most efficient methods of developing and implementing new computer programs and systems

• Review existing computer programs and recommend refinements, improvements, and enhancements to ensure most efficient methods are employed

• Communicate with commercial vendors to develop programs and/or interfaces

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years in IT with at least 5+ years experience in developing financial systems

• Comprehensive understanding of MS SQL Server, Transact-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services

• Advanced understanding of .NET, C#, AJAX programming concepts

• Advanced understanding of Java programming concepts

• Advanced understanding of Web protocols and programming requirements

• Experience with Charles River Investment Management System (IMS) and/or Portware Enterprise

• Understanding of trade flow processing and operational systems

• Comprehensive understanding of object oriented programming and programming principles

• Understanding of enterprise-level automation and scheduling concepts

• Knowledge of Perl, HTML, UNIX scripting, VBScript preferred but not required

• Knowledge of XML, C/C++ and messaging preferred but not required

• Experience with GENEVA (RSL Scripting) preferred but not required

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent field is required

• Willingness to lead in a structured team environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
