Hedge Fund Investment Associate recruitment
The growing Investment Department currently consists of six investment professionals. The portfolio is diversified across all major asset classes, currently including domestic and international equity, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, real estate, commodities and natural resources. The investment team handles asset allocation, selection of outside investment managers, and risk management.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Investment Associate / Vice President will assist the CIO and senior management in the identification, evaluation, selection, and monitoring of hedge fund and fund of hedge fund investment strategies and managers. The successful candidate will also be involved with risk management and other investment initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assess hedge fund strategy and sub-strategy allocations and the construction of portfolios
- Source, evaluate and monitor investment managers across various hedge fund strategies, sub-strategies, and their underlying exposures
- Prepare Investment Committee memoranda and reports
- Oversee the data collection and reporting process for managers
- Analyze, interpret and present financial, performance and exposure information for both individual investments and the entire portfolio
- Maintain models to project investment outcomes and liquidity
- Monitor changing economic and market trends and present potential changes to relevant strategies
- Work with senior management and outside counsel to review and evaluate legal documents related to investment managers
- Conduct special projects as requested
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- BA or BS; significant focus in Finance or Economics preferred
- MBA and/or CFA preferred
- Strong academic credentials
Experience:
- A minimum 3 to 8+ years relevant employment history that includes professional hedge fund investment experience either in the fund of hedge fund, institutional consultant, foundation, endowment, plan sponsor, or wealth management space.
Specialized knowledge/skills needed:
- Knowledge of hedge funds, financial markets and investments
- Strong due diligence skills
- Quantitatively adept; able to understand and effectively communicate quantitative information, verbally and in writing
- Skilled at accessing and analyzing data and information
