Senior Risk Analyst

Salary: 100K – 130K Base, up to 150K – 300K total compensation

Location: London

I am seeking a Senior Risk Analyst for a leading Fund of Hedge Fund based in London or New York. This role will pay a very competitive base salary and bonus for the right individual. This will be a great opportunity to work in a profitable and growing organization for a candidate that requires the intellectual stimulation of a front office role, with the bonus of working in a secure environment. 

The jobholder will be part of the Risk team, reporting directly to the Head of Risk (Partner) and a dotted line into the CIO. The successful candidate will work with the Risk team and alongside the Investment team to analyse, asses and provide consultancy of the risks’ of current and potential funds. The main responsibilities will be:

• To interpret the risk metrics across Macro, FI and Volatility trading strategies

• Perform joint transparency exercises with Investment Analysts to view a hedge fund’s portfolio to determine and capture risks that are not identified by standard metrics

• To monitor leverage, liquidity and financing risks

• Conduct Hedge Fund Managers due diligence interviews

• To participate in Strategy and Fund meetings

• To support the production of reports required by the Head of Risk and the Investment Committee

The successful candidate will have a trading and risk background, ideally working for a tier 1 Investment Bank within a prop trading desk or a prime brokerage covering FI strategies (Most are FI arbitrage strategies), or working for a Hedge Fund covering the stated strategies.

The candidate will also need to have:

• A theoretical understanding of Hedge fund trading strategies within corporate credit, equity, FX, volatility and commodity asset classes

• An excellent understanding of risk measures, i.e. VaR, Greeks, etc…

• A strong Bachelors or higher degree from a reputable University

• Excellent and written and oral communication skills

• Drive and the ability to work autonomously working under pressured deadlines
