Hedge Fund Strategic Planning 200K+

Company Description

The next generation in hedge fund management.  For over a decade, our outstanding people, many of whom have PhDs, have been developing the next generation of technologies, ideas, and strategies.  We have been highly successful because of both our technically superior strategies and our brilliant people.  We have a close-knit group, distinguished by their interest in our shared success, half of whom are graduates from Harvard, MIT, and Cornell.  This lucrative synthesis of human and machine cognition in an intellectually rich, supportive environment is at the core of Spark.  We have experience with H-1B and green card sponsorship, and visa status is not a constraint.  All submissions kept confidential.

Job Description

As our firm expands, finding and attracting the most talented individuals worldwide is the Strategic Planning group’s top priority.  In Strategic Planning, you will leverage your own talent and expertise to shape our firm’s future: from planning our expansion strategy to developing contacts and networking with the best of the best, from generating great leads to evaluating top-tier candidates.  You will scout the rare, exceptional individuals who will add value.

Depending on your skills and interests, you may contribute in a variety of stimulating ways, from creating search strategies to working on our effort to computerize recruiting to discerning who amongst highly credentialed individuals is the best fit for our opportunity.  In any project, your skills will be vital in assessing the skills of others and the strategic needs across our business.

Many eminent people are intrigued by the idea of joining a prominent hedge fund or at least want to know more.  You might research a prominent scientist then start a dialogue where each side has something to offer.  This conversation may lead to an entertaining dinner, a valuable relationship, or an invaluable hire.  At a minimum, you’ll enjoy a thought-provoking interaction with someone you may not have otherwise had the opportunity to meet.

Even after years of success in the industry, there is still more to achieve.  If we want to hire additional quantitative strategists, whom should we target?  Successful Wall Street analysts, accomplished astrophysics professors, prize-winning math prodigies, or someone completely different?  Once we decide, how do we go about finding these high-caliber people?  And then, how do we attract them to join?  You will draw on your intellectual stamina and unparalleled inventiveness to our goal of bringing the right top-notch people to our firm.

Starting compensation, including a discretionary bonus in addition to base salary, is strong for this high-visibility position and so is the upside potential for someone whose efforts find the hires that will move our hedge fund forward.  Finding geniuses requires brilliance; you’ll develop a roster of concepts, ideas, and contacts to maintain our competitive advantage.  You can have a lasting impact on the life of our business and the lives of our candidates.  Are you up to the challenge?

Job Qualifications

We are looking for a highly intelligent and perceptive individual who will embrace both our commitment to strategically expand our business and our recruiting philosophy of hiring only the better and the best.  Strategic Planning requires outstanding intelligence and communication skills.  We will consider exceptional candidates from a variety of backgrounds; what matters most to us is your ability to succeed in this challenging and public-facing role.

If you’d be intrigued by the challenge of putting together a team of brilliant individuals to reduce traffic congestion in Manhattan, protect sea life from oil spills, or patch up the hole in the ozone layer, send us your resume.  Your projects in Strategic Planning are just as stimulating, your work more lucrative, and your goals much more feasible.  The most important factors for success are your exceptional intelligence, insight into human nature, and ability to interact with those who have achieved eminence in a broad range of fields.

To stand out amongst many highly qualified candidates, you may want to submit a cover letter detailing your original idea for recruiting programmers, up-and-coming leaders, or talented people in general.  When you submit your resume, please include your GPAs and standardized test scores.  Anything you send in may be used by Spark for any purpose, so PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING THAT IS PROPRIETARY TO ANY PERSON.
