Job Description
Work with HEDIS/Quality team on delivering key performance measures as defined by the State; be a resource for identifying areas of improvement. Provide accurate and timely analytical support to stakeholders related to corporate-wide strategic decision-making and clinical quality by performing analytical projects. Execute each phase of analyses, including information gathering through oral and written communication, perform technical tasks and translate data into clear and actionable results. Work independently as well as collaborate with Datawarehouse, HEDIS, Quality and other Network Health departments. As part of Analytics, work on ad hoc assignments as requested.
Requirements
- Responsible for performing analyses for both Medicaid and Commonwealth Care lines of business to support Clinical Affairs and Quality.
- Support clinical quality goals of achieving and maintaining the best possible HEDIS outcomes through data retrieval and in-depth analysis.
- Provide actionable analyses related to clinical initiatives strategy based on an understanding of HEDIS metrics.
- Apply concepts and tools of health care economics, such as cost- effectiveness and forecasting/trend studies, to enhance understanding of performance patterns across the networks, products and geography.
- Develop methods for consistency and validity checking to assure accurate and meaningful results.
- Through clear written and oral communication, explain key analytical findings and work with subject matter experts to identify appropriate actions and monitor outcomes.
- Working on ad hoc requests, as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business, mathematics, economics, statistics, or finance or equivalent work experience of 7 to 10 years in an analytical role. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a health care analytics role, as a senior analyst, preferably in a managed care insurance environment. HEDIS experience required. Requires an abstract thinker. Advanced Excel skills are necessary. Technical tasks require an understanding of relational databases and large data structures as well as knowledge of one or more of the following: SQL, SAS, SPSS, MSAccess.
