Position Overview

WatchGuard is looking to hire an IT Support Administrator I.  This individual will provide helpdesk support to the current installed base of local and remote users.  The environment consists primarily of Microsoft products, Cisco network hardware, and Avaya based PBX.  An ideal candidate would be an extremely customer-focused and organized individual. The position will entail supporting workstation hardware, user operating systems and client applications. This position may require non standard work hours including evenings and weekends.

 

Responsibilities

This position has the following duties and responsibilities:

·          Provides primary front line helpdesk support to WatchGuard employees who request assistance

·          Utilize help desk software to enter and track open support tickets

·          Follow-up with customers prior to closing a case

·          Escalate server, network, and application issues to the appropriate resources

·          Administer user accounts for multiple software packages

·          Imaging and deployment of workstations

·          Automation of software installation

·          Scripting of logon scripts and image creation

·          Perform asset control for hardware and software

·          Assist with leased laptop returns and deployments

·          Administration of various computer systems and applications

·          Administration of various network related systems and applications

·          Participate in a rotating 24 hour On Call pager support schedule

·          Perform other related duties as required

Educational, Knowledge, Skills, Certifications/Licenses, Competencies

·          Some college or technical Classes preferred with a major in Information Science or Software Engineering, however this is not required.

·          A+, MCP, MCSA, or MCSE is not required but a plus

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications are expected in order for the candidate to be highly successful:

·          Some training or experience with direct first-line customer support is desired

·          Ability to prioritize tasks

·          Excellent communication skills via email and phone

·          Customer service skills are a must

·          Demonstrated ability to multitask

·          Excellent follow-up skills

·          Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a self directed team environment

·          Maintain a high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

·          Uses independent judgment

·          Strong experience with Microsoft platforms: Windows XP 7, the latest versions of Outlook, Office and Internet Explorer, and other major applications

·          Hardware experience with desktops and laptops (Dell preferred)

·          Understanding of Internet security, especially virus and spyware, is a must

 

This position requires the following experience:

·          Some hands-on pc tech and/or helpdesk administration experience

·          2 years experience and knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Windows XP, Windows 7, Outlook, and Word

·          Customer Service or Help Desk experience in a mid to large business with a fast-paced work environment preffered
