Reporting to the Manager Heritage GIS, this role sits within the Health, Safety, Environment – Land Access Department of an iron ore CSG of a large scale international mining operation.
This is an initial one year agreement, however, the agreement will likely extend to 2 years. This is a Perth based, approximately 40 hour week role. Site visits may be required from time to time.
Accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Planning and implementation of all relevant studies required for the Land Access Strategy
- Establishment and maintenance of technical work relationships with external consultants and sponsorships and partnerships with other stakeholders, eg. Research institutes and universities
- Preparation of S16 permit applications, S18 Notices, CHMPs and CMMPs and conducting Section 16 permit work
- Provision of technical advice to the Land Access Department
- Management of archaeological consultants and QA all heritage reports as per scope of work requirement
- Conducting fieldwork and audits to ensure all heritage work is aligned with organisational requirements
- Heritage Data Management including mapping requirements (GIS)
The above must be carried out while ensuring conformance with the organisational Charter, Group Level Documents, code of conduct and relevant statutory obligations along with an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
The successful candidate must be able to build positive sustainable relationships through effective consultation and engagement at all levels and have constructive and respectful conversations, maintain attention to detail and be achievement focused including an ability to work independently and as a team.
The successful candidate will maintain a tertiary qualification in archaeology or similar with a minimum of 5 years experience preferably in the mining industry or consulting with computer literacy in MS Office Suite and GIS. Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
