High Frequency Developer (Algos/Blackbox)
• Understand and improve the current technology solutions present within hedge fund’s management
• Lead an effort to design and implement a technology transaction processing framework to be first used for trade capture but ultimately expand to other areas including, but not limited to, position management, and order management. This framework must solve challenging problems including replication, performance requirements, state management, recovery, deterministic behavior patterns, authentication and messaging.
• Work with other teams as a technology mentor to improve other areas of the firm. Lead design discussions and code reviews helping to set appropriate technology standards and policies.
• 15+ years experience in financial industry as a software engineer
• Expert in the Equities domain including global execution venues, order life cycle management, trade processing, and global regulatory rules. Ideal candidate will also have experience with FX, Futures and FI electronic execution.
• Fix expert
• Expert level C/C++ programming experience.
• Expert level Java programming experience, including GC avoidance (not minimization).
• Expert infrastructure knowledge; OS, linux, network, chipset, memory, storage, etc.. While this role will not directly utilize, the ideal candidate will have experience with FPGA programming.
• Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities, demands and timelines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Solid relationship building skills and the ability to lead and motivate by example
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
• Detail oriented; Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
