High Frequency Trading Developer/ Strategist- Greenfield FX/Commodities- C++/ Linux – USA recruitment
Latency, FX, Currencies, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Market Data, Exchange)
Our client is a young, dynamic Start-up Proprietary Trading firm who have had an exceptional year to date within the Equities space. Headquartered in New York, they specialize in cutting-edge Low Latency High Frequency Trading strategies and place particular emphasis on investment in the latest tools and technologies available to stay ahead of their competitors in the High Frequency Trading space. Due their solid track-record within the Equities High Frequency space, they currently have ambitious plans to expand and continue on this success in the FX and Commodities markets in early 2012. Given these ambitious and aggressive expansion plans, they currently have several openings in their New York office for exceptional candidates with solid programming abilities (ideally C++ on Linux) while exposure to any FX or Commodities products and High Frequency Trading strategies would be beneficial. The successful C++ Developer would then have the rare opportunity to work on an entirely Greenfield project, and will play a key role in the design and development of a next generation Low Latency, High Frequency Trading platform, in either the Commodities or FX space, from scratch. The C++ developer would become part of a small, dynamic team, where there is no divide between the business and technology. Thus they would be expected to participate in all aspects of building High Frequency Trading strategies, from the design of the core platform architecture to support the entire High Frequency Trading life-cycle, to the implementation of High Frequency Trading strategies and statistical analysis of trade executions.
The successful C++ Developer/ Strategist will ideally have the following skill-set:
• Solid C++ coding ability, preferably in a Linux/ Unix environment
• Experience developing high-performance, low latency, real-time trading systems would be beneficial but isn’t essential
• Knowledge or exposure to High Frequency Trading strategies could give a competitive edge
• While FX or Commodities knowledge may be advantageous, the client is also willing to consider expert coders from non-finance backgrounds who could make a key contribution to the design, implementation and direction of the core architecture
• Solid communication skills as this is a highly business-critical role in a small, tight-knit team
• Experience of Linux kernel tuning/ FPGA acceleration would be particularly attractive
While the responsibilities of the successful C++ Developer/ Strategist will be incredibly varied, they will include:
• Design and develop the core platform architecture to support the whole of the High Frequency Trading life-cycle, spanning the market data service, strategy development, back-testing, strategy execution and strategy performance analysis
• Participate in all aspects of building quantitative High Frequency Trading strategies, including the design, implementation and testing
• Develop low latency algorithms for Direct Market Access
• Implement a proprietary feed handler, smart order routing and OMS
• Explore trading ideas, implement trading strategies and perform statistical analysis of trade executions
This will be an extremely challenging yet highly rewarding opportunity for the successful C++ Developer/Strategist with the rare opportunity to participate in the design and development of an innovative trading platform entirely from scratch. Due to the profitability and the success of the business, the successful candidate will also have both the stability and capital of a successful company combined with the start-up, Greenfield nature of the project. Because this is a highly profitable and successful business, all compensation, benefits and bonus will be extremely competitive, including circa 100% bonus for the first year.
