The Asia Equity Strategy team is looking for a strong Research Associate/ VP in its Hong Kong office. The group produces client-facing research on equity markets from a thematic, strategic, and tactical perspective, covering macro, sector, and single-stock ideas. This role is focused on the macro strategy side, working with the team to frame investment themes that are relevant at the portfolio manager level.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Assist in the analysis and preparation of written Equity Strategy product - monitor markets (regionally but also particular focus on China in the responsibilities part), investigate themes, analyze data, produce trade ideas, contribute to the written product, communicate the team views to Salespeople and Clients
2) Liaise with Research Strategists and Economists, Industry Analysts, Salespeople, and Traders to gain market colour and ideas to contribute to the team's thematic derivative views
3) Monitor market data and maintain analytical tools
4) Manage publication and distribution process

Skills Required:
1) Desire for a broad market-facing and client-facing role that covers Equity markets from a top-down, thematic perspective
2) Fluent Mandarin (spoken and written Chinese)
3) Equity experience or training preferred
4) Strong quantitative experience or training preferred
5) Fundamentally focused - must have an interest in exploring fundamental macro themes, reading Research, and discussing ideas with the team
6) Strong attention to detail
7) Must be able to write clearly and concisely
8) Must be able to form strong ties and work well with Research Analysts, Salespeople, and Traders
9) Must be able to react quickly as new projects arise and be able to prioritize accordingly
