Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) is a global institutional securities house covering sales, research, ECM, execution and derivatives and delta one activities. MSG uses its research and risk management skills to develop equity-based solutions and services for clients internationally.
We are seeking to expand its Corporate Relations Events team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate would be an integral member of the team responsible for connecting corporate clients and investor clients for Macquarie's equities cash business.
In this role, you will interact with Macquarie sales staff and research analysts worldwide and also with corporate and institutional clients and vendors across numerous events.
The role involves providing corporate marketing and event management services with a specific focus on conferences, corporate days, client and corporate schedule building, luncheons, seminars, event logistics, research marketing roadshows, deal and non-deal roadshows, and other events across our Asian equity product.
This role includes the following areas of responsibility and skill:
- Organising logistics and bookings (including accommodation, transport, entertainment etc).
- Preparing information packs with investor profiles and research for clients.
- Liaising with Investor Relations and senior management.
- To lead and execute small to medium scale conferences and other corporate events.
- Work closely with research teams, equity sales teams and other divisions of Macquarie to coordinate conferences, private meeting scheduling, analyst marketing, deal and non-deal roadshows.
- Regular contact with investor relations and senior management of corporate institutions throughout pre-marketing, execution and feedback stages of corporate events.
- On-site event management, including travel to other offices to staff conferences and other events when required.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua).
- Excellent planning, organisational, implementation and follow-up skills required.
- The ability to communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner and interact with people at various levels both internally and externally.
- Ability to manage conflict along with solid problem solving/decision making skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels.
- At least 2-4 years experience as or Conference Coordinator or Roadshow Coordinator at a financial institution.
- Strong analytical skills and a very strong focus on detail.
- An excellent phone manner and commitment to high service standards and the delivery of customer service excellence.
- Experience in drafting invitation, event marketing materials and an excellent understanding of event processes.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritise a heavy workload to meet deadlines.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to the success of the team.
- A willingness to work a fast-paced, dynamic organisation, where a flexible approach to work hours will be required.
- Superior skills in Excel and Word and exposure to CRM systems and web-based conference technology platforms, electronic administration and processing systems.
- Be an enthusiastic team player and have a high level of integrity.
