The group uses its research and risk management skills to develop equity-based solutions and services for clients internationally.
We are currently seeking an Associate Director to join our Asian Equity Finance team in Hong Kong.
The successful candidate will act as the key liaison point for internal trading desks to help optimise their stock borrow and long positions and in turn help to drive their PL's. In addition, they need to have the ability to work cooperatively with Sales staff to develop new physical and synthetic stock lending and financial relationships as well as have a strong understanding of the Asian stock lending industry with a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the individual markets and their participants.
Key accountabilities:
- Strong focus on internal and external relationship development and management, not just maintenance to drive profitability.
- Collaborating with internal businesses to minimise stock borrow cost and monetise internal house positions.
- Ensuring adherence to licensing and regulatory guidelines.
- Continued focus on process optimization / improvement for desk.
Key skills and qualifications required:
- Business builder with a minimum of 5 years Asian equity finance experience covering at least 5 different underlying markets.
- Detailed understanding of and experience with the intricacies of individual Asian markets.
- Have a high level of drive and commercial acumen, coupled with a willingness to take responsibility.
- Be competitive, hard working, driven by success and committed to quality output.
- Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
- Be fluent in English.
- Knowledge of equity finance related markets (such as warrants, prime broking, index arbitrage, loans and deposits, FX and interest rate forwards and swaps) is advantageous.
- The ability to cooperate and work effectively in a team environment.
- Likely to have tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business or Accounting.
- CFA qualifications would be helpful as a demonstration of an understanding of how investment markets work.
- The most important qualification is a demonstration of an ability to build a business rather than accumulate business through sitting on a franchise.
