Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) is a global institutional securities house covering sales, research, ECM, execution and derivatives and delta one activities. MSG uses its research and risk management skills to develop equity-based solutions and services for clients internationally.
We are currently seeking a Research Analyst to join our Equity Research team in Hong Kong to cover the Metals and Mining sector, with a focus on the Steel / Non-ferrous Metals or Paper sectors. This is your opportunity to play an integral role in the growth of our business. As a member of a highly rated team, you will be involved in generating reports that assist in our clients' investment decisions. You will provide market analysis and financial modelling support to the team and help manage database information. Assisting with client presentations and briefings, you will also be involved in helping build our client base and revenue over time.
To be successful, you will:
- have 3-5 years' institutional equity research experience focusing on Steel, Non-ferrous metals or Paper sectors. Experience of covering Fertiliser is an advantage;
- have good client relationships and some proven panel votes would be an advantage;
- have good relationships with corporates under coverage;
- have tertiary qualifications in a finance, accounting or a quantitative discipline;
- be highly numerate with exceptional financial analysis and modelling skills;
- be able to build good relationships and enjoy communicating at all levels with sales teams and clients;
- be fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- be hardworking, highly self-motivated, flexible and willing to travel to mainland China for company visits and client trips.
