The Derivatives business operates a full service platform, originating equity-based financial solutions and products for wholesale, institutional, corporate and retail investors globally. Our derivatives portfolio includes OTC options, customised indices and baskets, warrants and structured products and strategic portfolio transactions. The business has also built a solid reputation as one of Asia's premier warrants issuers and is a top-tier issuer of listed warrants in Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea, three of Asia's largest warrant markets.
We are now looking to build on a successful franchise tailoring and distributing non-flow equity derivative products. The client base for this activity is predominantly corporate clients in globally, but with the Asia-Pacific region being the focus.
The candidate would assume a senior role in the Non-Flow Derivatives team. Interaction with, and occasional leadership of, related teams in the front and back office is expected. Direct supervision of structuring or sales staff is likely in either the short or medium term, depending on the seniority and aptitude of the candidate, and business growth.
The successful candidate will:
- own selected client relationships, and prospective Non-Flow Equity Derivative transactions, from front-to-back;
- be able to build internal relationships with teams such as the legal, operations and credit teams, to facilitate clean and efficient deal execution;
- be able to develop innovative structures that simultaneously meet client requirements and house risk/return requirements;
- at times be required to contribute to the strategy and direction of the Non-Flow Derivative business.
To be considered for this role, candidates will:
- have strong technical skills, including experience in derivative structuring, and at least a basic understanding of the legal and regulatory environment for derivatives and capital markets generally;
- have specific experience in tailoring derivatives for corporate clients in the Asian region. Specific experience with the equity asset class is also highly regarded;
- have previous experience in corporate client facing roles , or at least an aptitude for such a role;
- have an undergraduate degree qualification in a finance or legal discipline;
- have post-graduate qualifications in similar fields are well regarded;
- demonstrate an ability to apply an entrepreneurial mindset;
- be self motivated and a self starter;
- work well in a team;
- have a strong character; and
- have strong project initiation, management and completion skills.
