Position Description:
Supervise the safe and efficient handling and processing of all IWSS (Integrated Waste Stream Solutions) waste streams contracted by the facility(s). Ensures the services provided to the facility(s) by Stericycle and Stericycle vendors consistently meets customer service expectations, regulatory and safety compliance measures, and operates in a productive and profitable manner.

•Trains and develops hospital staff on the IWSS program so they are compliant with the regulations relating to both bio-hazardous and hazardous waste.
•Establishes and communicates performance and IWSS program compliance.
•Monitors operations and hospital staff productivity and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of program.
•Administer / organize hospital staff IWSS education schedule. Coordinate IWSS education of all hospital employees. Oversee education process ensuring all staff / departments are covered.
•Coordinate distribution of recycle containers throughout the facility. Coordinate labor for implementation of red bag changes.
•Coordinate in-service for specific waste streams with HCS (haz, spills, safety). Administer continuous care follow up education schedule for hospital Departments.
•Review and approve all invoices related to the IWSS program.
•Make necessary changes in vendor service as needed.
•Log all progress and implementation. Log daily activities specific to the hospital and report to administrative coordinator.
•Provide expert advice to customers in compliance issues with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies. Train Environmental Services Department on DOT Regulations related to medical waste to help customers meet DOT Requirements.
•Ensures the service area meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner. Perform periodic facility audits, review of all applicable regulatory paperwork.
•Ensures continuous improvement of productivity standards and worker safety performance in all phases of the operation.
•Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction; interface proactively with Hospital personnel to achieve goals. Manage customer satisfaction survey feedback. Provide summaries of monthly activities on key issues.
•Initiate actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices.
•Provides for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.

Position Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Three or more years related experience or training in a hospital EVS environment, demonstrating strong communication, training skills and tact. Demonstrates knowledge of JACHO, EPA, and DOT.
•Demonstrates knowledge of basic computer skills.
•Demonstrates knowledge of all hospital related waste streams, Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
