SilverBirch Hotels Resorts is one of Canada’s leading hotel management companies and manages over 20 hotels and resorts across Canada. We manage independent hotels and hotels operating under major franchise brands, such as Marriott, Hilton, Radisson, Quality, Best Western and Ramada.
We are looking for a Hospitality Application Specialist at our Corporate Office in Vancouver, BC.
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Information Technology, the Hospitality Application Specialist will be responsible for supporting the various business systems currently in use at SilverBirch Hotels Resorts. These systems include best of breed Sales and Catering, Property Management and Point of Sale Systems.
Duties Responsibilities:
§ Provide day to day support of critical business systems, liaising with system vendors as appropriate.
§ Manage user accounts and HR requests.
§ Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyze information needs and business/functional requirements and deliver recommendations as needed.
§ Prepare and deliver training courses, both web based and in classroom format.
§ Manage vendor implementation projects and coordinate on-site training.
§ Successfully engage and support multiple initiatives simultaneously.
§ Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
§ Some travel to SilverBirch properties is required (
Preferred Education Qualifications:
§ Minimum Post-Secondary Diploma, preferably in Computer Systems Technology or Hospitality
§ BABOK certifications will be considered an asset
§ Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting mission critical business applications
§ Strong analytical and product management skills required
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
§ Experience in the hospitality industry will be considered an asset
§ Experience with report writing tools will be considered an asset
§ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required
§ Strong attention to detail
